Branches, TtB

The ultimate TtB shot. Branches, Through the Branches.

Funny, I didn't realize I had posted this shot for Valentine's Day. A solitary park bench. :(

One of my favorite Art movements was Dadaism a nihilistic art movement based on irrationality and negation of the accepted laws of beauty. Dada was an artistic revolt and protest against traditional beliefs. Dada sought to fight art with art.

Enough of the TtB for awhile. Lets see if I can get back to some more traditional shots... :)

Jardin Botanique de Montréal

My first snow fall a couple of weeks ago in Montréal. I was at the Botanical Garden trying my best to take flower shots without a tri-pod. Can you say shake, shake, shake, shake your booty... Thought I would try my luck with the creepy, crawlies and headed over to the Insectarium. I stumbled across this wise looking lion by the rose garden dusted with a layer of fresh snow. He is pondering something, not sure what. He wouldn't give it up.

The Great Peace of Montreal of 1701

The monument to Paul de Chomedey de Maisonneuve. The work by Louis-Philippe Hébert includes several bronze figures commemorating the Ville-Marie period.

This fellow is one of he figures on the monument. He looks like an Iroquois to me.

I took this at night with the Twilight setting which gives an interesting brown hue. I played with the levels and blurred the background a little to help offset the figure.

A little history... In 1701, after nearly a hundred years of recurrent warfare, French and natives joined together in a spectacular summit to sign a treaty that would end the atrocities and guarantee peace for more than a half century. This has become known as the The Great Peace of Montreal of 1701.

Harvest Truck

Silage/harvest truck on my dad's farm. In the background you can see a silo or silage bin where we stored corn and wheat.
